Learning Outcome 1
From my first draft of project 2 to the completely revised finished product, I made many corrections and changes. On a global scale, one of the most notable changes was fixing the same issue in two different spots in the paper. It happens at the end of paragraph one with a quote from Carr, and again at the beginning of paragraph two, with a quote from Kelly. The issue was that I had used quotes that were quoting someone else, so it created confusion while reading the paper because I introduced the author that the quote came from, just to dive into the quote and have it be some random person’s idea rather than the author I introduced. Initially, I was very worried that I would need to find completely new quotes to put in place of the confusing ones. However, after receiving feedback from my peers, I was able to continue using the quotes after a bit of work. To fix the issue, moving from the draft to the final, I explained who the Author was quoting, giving the reader the necessary context to understand going forward. I then continued to use the quote from the person and explained how the author interpreted what the person had to say, so that it didn’t feel like a “the author said, that this guy said” type of ordeal.
